I'm looking into purchasing a Honda CRV EX-L (potentially Touring trim). The car MSRP is $31,000 (roughly/for the sake of math) and I want to negotiate the out the door final price including tax, title, and any other associated fees. I do not want to go in with the mindset of negotiating monthly payments if that makes sense.
So this is where my problem lies. I don't know what I should try to negotiate the OTD price down to, I know I want to come in with my first request low since the price only goes up there. I just don't know where to begin if that makes sense?
Sorry that this is vague, but I'm not going to pay sticker, I just don't know where to start. Mild research tells me that MSRP is $31,000 and the "factory invoice" per Truecar (is this even reliable?) is $29,929.
I don't want to back myself into a corner, so where do I begin?
Any help appreciated.
